Code of Conduct for Burns and Becks Gundog Club
Membership of the Burns and Becks Gundog Club requires adherence to particular requirements of behaviour at all Club events, involving politeness and appreciation of the work of many others who provide the training, test and trial opportunities for our members.
In particular, as stated in the Kennel Club J Regs, members should not under any circumstances openly impugn the decisions of judges at tests or trials, or openly criticise the host, guns, ground or helpers. The Club would take a serious view of any such behaviour from any member and will deal with behaviour that is not up to the normal polite standard anyone might expect, using the Club’s disciplinary procedure, which is published on our website and referred to in our constitution.
Such misconduct would also be reported immediately to the Kennel Club in accordance with Regulation 14 (fraudulent and discreditable conduct).
The Burns and Becks Gundog Club operates through volunteers who may judge, organise training, tests or trials, throw dummies, run training groups, make the tea etc. and we expect our members to appreciate and embrace this approach to expected behaviour so that this continues.
We are also dependant on our hosts to provide the ground for our events, and appreciation for their generosity is crucial.
If you have any queries about any of these matters, please get in touch with either the Secretary or Chairman.
